Terms and Conditions of Sale for Antiques from idlewild

1. General Information
These Terms and Conditions apply to all sales made by idlewild (the "Seller") to the customer (the "Buyer"). By making a purchase, the Buyer agrees to these terms.

2. Product Condition and Description

All items sold by idlewild are vintage, antique, or handcrafted and will show signs of age, use, and character. These are not considered defects. We make every effort to describe items accurately, however natural variations in colour, finish, and condition should be expected.

3. Returns & Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects the Buyer’s statutory rights. Where purchases are made online or at a distance, the Buyer may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This right does not apply to items that are made to order, customised, or clearly personalised.

Larger items, including but not limited to wardrobes, chests of drawers and mirrors, may only be returned under the following conditions:

a. Defective Items: The Buyer must notify the Seller within 48 hours of delivery.

b. Change of Mind: Requests must be made within 2 days of delivery. Returns outside this period are at the Seller’s discretion and may incur a 10% deduction to cover administration, payment processing, and resale costs.

4. Product Images and Styling

Some product images may include digitally generated or enhanced backgrounds, including AI-assisted styling, to present items in a consistent setting. These backgrounds are for illustrative purposes only and are not included in the sale.

We take care to ensure that the product itself is accurately represented. However, colours, tones and finishes may vary due to lighting, photography, and screen settings.

5. Delivery and Risk

Risk in the goods passes to the Buyer upon delivery. The Buyer is responsible for inspecting items upon receipt and reporting any damage within 48 hours.
